Country Club Drive), Galloway Township (609-965-1800).  For seven years, golfers have been enjoying the high-class beauty of Blue Heron Pines, a course that has earned four stars from Golf Digest, commendations for being women-friendly from Golf for Women magazine, and praise from the local population. And at the end of May, Blue Heron Pines will open a second, Scottish links-style course offering 36 holes of wide-open golf. Named top 18-hole course in Best of the Shore 2000. Brigantine Golf Links. Roosevelt Blvd and East Shore Dr, Brigantine (609-266-1388). The region’s only 18-hole course on a barrier island boasts surprisingly few water vistas. Built in 1927, the Scottish links does feature a good variety of sand and water hazards on a nifty 6,213 yard layout (from the middle tees). Golf for Women Magazine recently honored Brigantine as women-friendly course. Bring bug spray if the wind is calm. Recently renovated clubhouse has food and full beverages.
